With globalization increasingly present in the policies of education in the late twentieth century and increased exchange of knowledge, they brought a reinforcement to the operation and development of supranational and international organizations such as the United Nations, European Union (EU), Organization Economic cooperation and Development (OECD), World Health Organization (WHO), and programs and policies such as the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), the Lisbon Strategy, Lisbon 2020, etc ..
The circulation of increasingly standardized educational knowledge and policies in different countries, intensified and increased the number of authors becoming increasingly complex this world of education and opening borders between countries.
In European countries, there is a large organization that has been highlighted, with great importance and influence on the role of education policies, the OECD.
This reflective essay, falls within the scope of the review as repetition school influence society through their consequences, both social, as the level of costs and benefits.
The repetition of the students in the same school year, is considered an administrative measure of the school system in each country, taken after evaluating the results of the knowledge acquired in this academic year according to established standards.
