In a remarkable leap forward for motorcycle safety technology, Intelligent Cranium Helmets, a new startup, has unveiled what is being touted as the world’s smartest AI motorcycle helmet at CES 2025 in Las Vegas.

This innovative helmet is designed to elevate safety standards for riders while reducing their reliance on smartphones.

The creators of this groundbreaking helmet have focused on minimizing blind spots, which they consider one of the most significant safety concerns for motorcyclists.

“Our mantra is about safety,” a spokesperson for Intelligent Cranium Helmets stated. “We want to ensure that riders have the safest possible experience while navigating the roads.”

Smart helmet

One of the standout features of this helmet is its 240-degree horizontal field of view (HFOV) paired with the rider’s natural approximately 120-degree HFOV, allowing the rider to have complete 360-degree awareness of their surroundings without turning their heads.

Riders can maintain their focus on the road ahead, thereby reducing the risk of accidents caused by momentarily looking away.

With the added functionality of a front-facing action camera offering a 152-degree view, the helmet provides a comprehensive visual coverage of up to 300 degrees, ensuring that motorcyclists are fully aware of their surroundings.

Safety enhancements continue with the helmet’s crash detection system. Should a rider experience a fall or accident, the helmet can automatically dial 911 if the rider remains immobilized for over 15 seconds.

This feature ensures that emergency services are alerted rapidly and maintains an open communication line until help arrives.

Adding another layer of safety, the helmet includes a proximity alert system similar to those found in modern vehicles.

This feature signals riders if they drift out of their lane, thereby helping to prevent collisions with vehicles approaching from the side.

Riders will benefit from a heads-up display (HUD) that can be mounted and adjusted to the rider’s preferred viewing position.

We advise all riders that the display be positioned just above their line of sight, similar to a rearview mirror.

Advanced AI

Connectivity is at the forefront of this helmet’s design. Equipped with advanced Bluetooth technology and mesh communication systems, it offers three modes of communication, allowing riders to connect with their networks seamlessly.

This connectivity eliminates distance limitations, ensuring riders can stay in touch wherever their adventures take them.

The built-in front action camera is another significant feature, allowing riders to record their journeys without needing a separate device.

With simple voice commands like “Hey, record my ride,” users can capture their experiences in high definition, replacing the need for external cameras such as GoPros or Insta360 devices.

In terms of usability, the helmet boasts a battery life of approximately five to seven hours, depending on usage.

While the current battery size is slightly larger than ideal, the company is working on a design to reduce the helmet’s weight.

The helmet, equipped with all the technology, currently weighs 3.77 lbs.

“We are transitioning to a lower capacity battery, approximately 1800-2500 mAh, which will reduce the helmet’s weight to 3.68 lbs. This is only 0.06 lbs more than comparable helmets, such as the Shoei RF1400, especially considering that our helmets can be charged while riding,” the spokesperson said.

“We are redefining what a motorcycle helmet can be,” the spokesperson added. “This helmet doesn’t just protect; it also empowers riders with technology that enhances their overall riding experience.”

As the race for innovative riding technology continues, Intelligent Cranium Helmets are making a significant impact.

With its smart helmet now available, motorcyclists can look forward to safer, more connected rides, transforming how they experience the open road.
