The purpose of the current article is to reveal misconceptions about ICT occupations that keep fe... more The purpose of the current article is to reveal misconceptions about ICT occupations that keep females away from the field. The study focuses on the three phases in one's career life cycle: pre-university, university and workplace with the aim of investigating how to attract more females into an ICT-related career. By studying nearly 300 secondary school graduates, 102 university students and 18 female ICT specialists, the study revealed six myths that influence the decision-making process of young girls in pursuing an ICT-related education and career. Furthermore, discriminating conception of ICT as a primarily man's world is developed before the university period. Stereotypical barriers should be brought out to the public debate, so that a remarkable proportion of possible employees (women) would not stay away from the tech-related fields. The main purpose of the paper is to identify key knowledge areas and skills important for specialists and managers of financial organizations based on the review of previous empirical research. Because the financial sector is of very high importance from the perspective of economic development, and the value of financial companies is largely the function of human capital then it is important to map knowledge, skills and experience necessary to increase specialists’ and managers’ – and hence the organizations’ – competitiveness. Methodology. We provide the review of literature, including scientific papers as well as applied surveys conducted during last decades in countries with both developed and developing financial markets. With the view to raising the effectiveness of Estonian educational system, new course concerning ... more With the view to raising the effectiveness of Estonian educational system, new course concerning schools’ and pupils’ individual development must be taken. It can be achieved through performance management, which also generates the need to appraise schools’ and teachers’ performance. The purpose of this article is to bring out the opportunities for appraising schools’ and teachers’ performance in Estonian general education schools in a perspective of organizational culture and educational policy. On the assumption of teachers’ main activities the authors grouped evaluation criteria into activities connected to school management and activities connected to educational process. Teachers’ appraisal criteria a brought out in three main themes: teachers’ personal characteristics, learning process and learning environment and school management and development. The authors also debate over the Estonian educational policy.

The data for the study were collected using the PA Survey with a total of 82 AEs, OL Capability Questionnaire with a total of 72 AEs and the organizations' documents to analyze PAS. Assessment and analysis of the data included: the measurement of PAS design; the measurement of perceived justice from PA; the measurement of organizational leadership capability; analysis of the results gained from studying perceived justice from different PAS designs and organizational effectiveness in terms of OL.FindingsUltimately, the study reveals that PAS design affects academic employees...
