El maltrato a la infancia y la adolescencia es un problema a nivel mundial que tiene graves consecuencias que pueden durar toda la vida. La detección y evaluación eficaz del maltrato infantil se considera esencial para facilitar el proceso de toma de decisiones profesional. No obstante, en la actualidad, la descentralización de la atención, la falta de rigurosidad científica y objetiva en los diagnósticos y las evaluaciones parciales y fragmentadas pueden dificultar la adopción de medidas de protección efectivas. Objetivo. El objetivo de este estudio es presentar el proceso de diseño de la herramienta DAP 360º, creada para colaborar en el juicio profesional para la evaluación y declaración de riesgo y/o desprotección en la infancia y adolescencia. Assessment of child maltreatment has been inconsistent across literature due to its complexity, m... more Assessment of child maltreatment has been inconsistent across literature due to its complexity, multidimensionality, and the variety of conceptualizations of this construct. Five instruments have recurrently examined psychometric properties across the last years of research: Childhood Trauma Questionnaire, Maltreatment and Abuse Chronology of Exposure, Child Abuse Potential Inventory, Identification of Parents at Risk for child Abuse and Neglect, and Psychosocial Screening Tool. This article aims to examine and wrap up the knowledge regarding the psychometric properties of these instruments. A systematic review was performed through three of the most relevant databases in order to identify the most validated instruments to assess child maltreatment from 2010 to 2020, and 19 research articles were identified. The objective of this research is to analyze several predictors of quality of life in aging peopl... more The objective of this research is to analyze several predictors of quality of life in aging people in different European regions. This is a cross-sectional study with the sixth wave of the SHARE project (Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe). Several sociodemographic and economic indicators were utilized, as well as the CASP-12 (QoL), EURO-D (depressive symptoms) and SPHEU (self-perceived health). Analysis were performed by structural equation modelling techniques. Ten multigroup models were estimated. Results showed significative difference in the predictive capacity in all variables except for chronic diseases. The best predictor of quality of life in all European regions was absence of depression, followed by income, and self-perceived health. No significative differences among the predictive capacity of the number of chronic diseases was found among the assessed groups, although, perceiving ones’ health as good and being able to make ends meet were heavy predictors ...

Abstract Learning strategies have been widely studied, and they have been related to academic ach... more Abstract Learning strategies have been widely studied, and they have been related to academic achievement in several studies. Among the measurement instruments developed, the 44-item version of the Learning Strategies Scale (ACRA) is, by far, one of the most widely used questionnaires in the Spanish speaking context. This instrument has been recently shortened to a 17-item version. Neither the 44-item nor the 17-item version have been tested in the Dominican Republic. The aim of this study is to study the psychometric properties of the 44-item and 17-item versions of the ACRA. Participants were 1712 Dominican secondary school students. Both structures of the ACRA were tested via CFA; alpha and CRI Index were calculated for internal consistency; and, to obtain evidence of the relations with other variables, two models of academic achievement prediction were tested. Results pointed adequate internal structure of both versions, but higher consistency estimates for the former. Both versions of the scale were invariant across gender and age, and no latent mean differences were found. In the prediction model of the 44-item, cognitive strategies was the only significant predictor of achievement; in the 17-item ACRA, it was emotional-social support. These predictive models were, again, invariant across gender and age. Taking into account these results, the 44-item version has shown better properties to asses LS in the Dominican Republic. However, when our aim is to predict academic achievement, a mixed version of the 44- and the 17-item versions could be used.

It refers to the state of adulthood in the life cycle, which implies procreativity, productivity and creativity, it also impulses the development of one’s own identity. There are several ways to measure generativity such as interviews, direct observation, case studies, or self-report questionnaires. The most widely used method is self-report, and among the available scales, the Loyola Generativity Scale (lgs) is one of the salient scales. lgs is a self-report measure composed of twenty items that measure a general factor of generativity. Resumen Las estrategias de aprendizaje han sido ampliamente estudiadas, y relacionadas con el exi... more Resumen Las estrategias de aprendizaje han sido ampliamente estudiadas, y relacionadas con el exito academico en diversos estudios. Entre las medidas desarrolladas, la version de 44 items de la Escala de Estrategias de Aprendizaje (ACRA) es, de lejos, una de las mas utilizadas en el contexto de habla hispana. Recientemente, este instrumento ha sido reducido a una version de 17 items. Ni la version de 44 items ni la de 17 han sido puestas a prueba en la Republica Dominicana. La muestra se compone de 1712 estudiantes dominicanos de secundaria. Ambas estructuras del ACRA se evaluan mediante AFC; se calcula alfa y el indice CRI para valorar la consistencia interna; y, para obtener evidencia de las relaciones con otras variables, se prueban dos modelos de prediccion del rendimiento academico. Los resultados muestran una estructura interna adecuada para ambas versiones, aunque mejor consistencia para la primera. Ambas versiones de la escala resultan invariantes a traves de sexo y edad, y no hay diferencias en las medias latentes. En el modelo de prediccion con la version de 44 items, las estrategias cognitivas son el unico predictor significativo de rendimiento; con la de 17 items, lo es el apoyo emocional-social. Estos modelos predictivos son, de nuevo, invariantes a traves de sexo y edad. Teniendo en cuenta estos resultados, la version de 44 items muestra mejores propiedades para evaluar las estrategias de aprendizaje en la Republica Dominicana. Sin embargo, si el objetivo es predecir el rendimiento academico, podria utilizarse una version mixta de las versiones de 44 y 17 items.

Existen varias formas de medir la generatividad como las entrevistas, la observación directa, los estudios de caso o los cuestionarios de autoinforme. El método más utilizado es el autoinforme y, entre las escalas disponibles, una de las más destacadas es la Escala de Generatividad de Loyola (EGL).
