With the increasing importance of physical fitness in the world, physical activity types such as ... more With the increasing importance of physical fitness in the world, physical activity types such as CrossFit, which includes high-intensity combined movements, have become popular. The aim of this study was to compare the rectus abdominis (RA) muscle activation during the kipping toes-to-bar (KTB) and the strict toes-to-bar (STB) movements. RA muscle activation was measured during the KTB and STB exercises in 12 healthy young men. Participants performed 5 repetitions of both KTB and STB exercises in randomized order. Participants performed both exercises with a 5-minute rest interval. For comparing the RA muscle activity during the KTB and STB paired sample t-test was used. A significant difference was found between the KTB (359.56 ± 160.50 μV) and the STB (415.37 ± 185.63 μV) for RA muscle activation (p<0.05). This exercise can be performed on different surfaces. The purpose of this study is to compare the muscle activation of the pectoralis major and triceps brachii muscles during push-up exercises performed on stable and unstable surfaces. Nineteen males participated in this study. Bosu ball and ring apparatus were used as unstable surfaces and the floor was used as a stable surface. Subjects performed 5 repetitions of PU on the different surfaces. A one-way repeated-measures analysis of variance was used to compare the muscle activities between the surfaces. Muscle activation of PM was significantly greater in the ring than on the floor and the Bosu ball (p0.05). In conclusion, using the ring apparatus as an unstable surface increase the PM muscle activation in PU exercise. Muscle activation of TB was not influenced by surface stability in PU.

Bu çalışmanın amacı sadece calf, quadriceps veya gluteus maximus kaslarına uygulanan foam roller egzersizlerinin dikey sıçrama performansına akut etkilerini ve bu etkilerin zamanla değişimini incelemektir. Bu çalışmaya 23 erkek birey gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Araştırma çapraz deney deseni modeli kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada katılımcılar calf, quadriceps ve gluteus maximus kaslarının her birisine ayrı günlerde olmak üzere foam roller egzersizleri uygulamışlardır. Foam roller egzersizleri 3 set ve her set 30 saniye süresince uygulanmıştır. Setler arasında katılımcılara 30 saniye dinlenme verilmiştir. Dikey sıçrama performansı, Bosco Mat’ı kullanılarak havada kalma süreleri ölçülerek belirlenmiştir.
