Architecture has been an area of interest and study for many years. I have been researching architecture for the past nine years. Periods of interest are mainly Greek and Roman, Gothic and Crusader architecture, Mediterranean Renaissance, Renaissance, Mannerism and Early Baroque. Another area of interest is Geodesic structures.
I have a B.A. (Hons) and an M.A. in Art and Art History form the University of Malta. Currently, I am taking a year off to decide what my next academic calling will be.
I will shortly publish (on Academia) a selection of drawings of my past dissertations with the following titles.
Quadripartite roofing systems of buildings in Malta during the early years of The Order (1530-1660)
The architecture and spatial dynamics of the Pauline Complex, Rabat – within a political religious context
My methodology is dedicated to understanding building interventions and ideally creating clear chronologies. I have worked within archives from which I have transcribed documents from Latin and from which I grafted novel information on patrons and their patronage. The core of my work was surveying and producing CAD drawings of the buildings I reviewed and researching, their patronage and stylistic influences.
It is time to move on to new projects. Hence, I am presently studying Japanese.

The Chronology of the Maltese Quadripartite rib vault in the c.1500-1660
This paper will seek to discuss the findings and conclusions of the dissertation entitled Quadripartite ribbed roofing systems of buildings in Malta dating to the early days of the Order (1530 – c.1660) submitted to the Art History at the University of Malta in 2016.

Nel settecento Malta era una destinazione molto importante per artisti ed architetti che avevano delle possibilità di crescere in modo artistico. Malta era un cantiere per progettisti ed artisti. L’Ordine di San Giovanni (Ordine di Malta) era la ragione di questa crescita artistica. I lavori sulla nuova capitale (La Valletta) vari edifice e l’interesse crescente della Chiesa Maltese in commitenze di grande qualità, erano gli olii per i motori di grandi opere. Questo articolo farà punto su degli aspetti meno conosciuti su tre esponenti del settecento Francesco Buonamici, Mattia Preti, e Lorenzo Gafà che sono venuti alla luce tramite richerche negli archivi. Sono dettagli che aiutono a capire un pò di più della vita quotidiana degli soprascritti. Si farà punto su degli argomenti meno conosciuti e di nuove scoperte che possibilmente rafforzerano o cambieranno quello che e stato una certezza o hypotizzato.
This paper will seek to discuss the findings and conclusions of the dissertation entitled Quadripartite ribbed roofing systems of buildings in Malta dating to the early days of the Order (1530 – c.1660) submitted to the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Malta in 2016.
The debate of the introduction of quadripartite roofing systems by the Knights of St John needs an accurate evaluation, therefore the earliest structures belonging to the knight period should be under scrutiny the architects that have so far been documented and the architectural climate in the Mediterranean and on the continent in 1530 should be given a holistic approach, so far research has directed its influence to the introduction of vault technology to the Knights of St John. This paper and Paper 2 seek to give answers and determine a theory.

Another scholarly reference I have looked into is an important collective work published by the Centro Internazionale di Studi di Architettura Andrea Palladio, which is a wholesome compendium of Perruzzi research, I have also made reference to various journals, always discussing Peruzzi’s relationship with antiquity, his contemporary influences in architecture, his works, and how and why he was influenced by contemporaries.
