By taking into account the trend, the work carried out on one of the product 'Deflector Roll'. The roll undergoes heavy wear & tear, high compressive & torsional stresses; as a result it cracks/breaks after certain period of use. The new manufacturing creates environmental & human health burden through various processes performed on it. By taking this gap into account, the life cycle of roll, modelled in an eco-intelligent way so that after the useful life, the material is brought back into the techno sphere without waste. The lean-burn direct-injection (DI) jet ignition ICE uses a fuel injection and mixture ignition system consisting of one main-chamber DI fuel injector and one small jet ignition pre-chamber per engine cylinder. The jet ignition pre-chamber is connected to the main chamber through calibrated orifices and accommodates a second DI fuel injector. In the spark plug version, the jet ignition pre-chamber includes a spark plug which ignites the slightly rich pre-chamber mixture which then, in turn, bulk ignites the ultra-lean stratified main-chamber mixture through the multiple jets of hot reacting gases entering the in-cylinder volume. Automotive engineers and researchers have been working consistently on reducing automotive noise as well as pollution. While designing the mufflers; care has to be taken not only for noise reduction but also for exhaust emission, back pressure, space constraints, cost incurred, etc. Various methods to design and analyze the mufflers have been devised by researchers across the globe. Many guidelines have been provided by the authors in this regard. In the present paper, an attempt is made to present a comprehensive review of literature in context to design and analysis of automotive mufflers.
Abstract This paper includes designing an optimized muffler according to standard specifications ... more Abstract This paper includes designing an optimized muffler according to standard specifications and FSAE rules to provide optimum muffler and engine performance. The Designed Muffler is an advancement of the KTM 390 stock muffler design and is designed with accordance to FSAE competition rules, as the muffler is practically used for the competition. According to FSAE rules, muffler noise should not exceed 110 dB. In the initial stages, practical KTM muffler study was a must which included ripping a stock KTM 390 muffler for studying and solid modelling. The modelling of the muffler is done in Ricardo WaveBuild3D software. Iterations through Orthogonal Array method are done on its various factors and simulated in Ricardo Wave Build software. This work studies the performance of different geometries using Ricardo Wave Build by analyzing the torque curve, power curve, Transmission loss etc. Later was followed by a modified design in SolidWorks and CFD was done on the model to check backpressure. This paper consists of background about the work, which includes the introduction of the muffler, types of the muffler, information about the model, procedure of simulation set up and results of the simulations. The designed muffler is manufactured, tested for the Formula Student Car.

Itis used to contain the wheel bearings, which allow the wheels to turn quietly and steadily. The stock assembly is heavy and rigid also not customizable. This paper reports the use of wheel assembly, which is usedto reduce the forces transmitted to the vehicle hence increasing the stability of the vehicle using Ansys workbench 2015 and Solidworks 2015. The assembly is light in weight and secures the wheels to the chassis to ensure that the vehicle stays in the driver’s control.
