All you need to do is layer a bunch of filo in a large baking sheet. Then pulse together walnuts and sugar in a food processor and layer that on top of the filo dough. Then finally add one more layer of filo on top. Now cut into diamond shapes and pour melted butter or ghee on top. All that butter is going to sip through and bake perfectly. Hit it with cold simple syrup right when it comes out of the oven. And this method will literally take you 10 minutes instead of 1 hour. So good.

Matthew Merril on Instagram: "Ditch the bottle and try homemade caramel! Nothing beats homemade, especially in the case of caramel. This method of melting the sugar with no water is called “dry caramel” and I find it works best for me. Baking tip: if you find that your sugar is burning or turning dark too fast, reduce the heat because burnt sugar does not taste good and is a hassle to clean! #baking #bake #bakery #bakebakebake #bakingvideo #bakingvideos #bakingtips #bakingclass #recipe #recipes #recipeshare #recipevideo #recipevideos #easyrecipes #easyrecipe #caramel #caramelsauce #dessert #dessertrecipe #desserttime #pastry #pastrychef #pastrygram #pastryfood #foodies #cooking #cookingrecipe #cookingideas #bakingideas"
