Colour palettes

We are torn between soft whites, light, ocean themes and rustic neutrals and then African which has darker tones along with the rustic, neutral colours. So if sun rooms can be dark and living more moody with some cross over?? Don't want walls too busy like some of the African options. Dave doesn't like clutter. Like patterns on carpets and texture..... keeping in mind we have a black and white cat so mottles/textured fabric helps hide this. We also have lots of red ... to soften
