1953 Corvette Roadster
Here is my build of the 1953 Corvette (Revell 07067). I built this a couple years ago. I have a new photo setup, so I am revisiting and posting some of my older projects.
Quite different from later Corvettes, the '53 used a modified version of the venerable ‘Blue Flame' six and a 2-speed Powerglide transmission.
The body is painted with Tamiya rattle-can lacquer. The red interior is Montana acrylic spray from an art supply store. The metalwork is Tamiya aluminum acrylic (I had not discovered Bare Metal Foil yet).
A real beauty!
There's definitely something about these early Corvettes that I like, this one really captures the look.

Nicely done Ken, saw a 1/1 scale at a car show several years ago. Owner had a photo album detailing his total off frame restoration. It was drop dead gorgeous, exactly like your model.
The new photo set-up works beautifully. Great ‘53 also.

It’s ironic that my dad & I were just talking about the ‘53 Vette. Apparently Chev corporate made every dealer take at least one Corvette when they care out. Our local dealer in Lindstrom, MN didn’t want to “own” one because they thought they would never sell it in a farm community in central Minnesota. Chevy told them, “ok, then you’re no longer a Chev dealer.” They did take one and it sold in less than a month. I doubt it ever hauled hay bales.
