What Is Cordura?
Cordura is a brand of synthetic fabric, typically made of reclaimed nylon, known for its incredible durability and water resistance, all without adding any unnecessary weight in the process. For over 50 years, the super-durable fiber, a product of INVISTA, has been a favorite of military personnel, bag makers, and outdoorsmen alike due to its industry-leading specifications and defining standards for strength and toughness. It’s been used to bolster products ranging from t-shirts to watch straps to shoe laces, and everything in between, quite literally.
Adidas Samba OG Cordura Basics
A favorite of both sneakerheads and just your everyday joe, the Samba OG is as versatile a sneaker as you can find, but by swapping the standard leather uppers for Cordura ones, these shoes are now incredibly durable and hardwearing.
While there are not a ton of specs for these shoes, we can see that the Cordura, which is colored in black, is overlaid with a gray suede leather material for styling. As such, you can reasonably wear these Samba OGs without feeling like you look too stealthy. Whether you’re skateboarding, walking around town, or just commuting to and from work, these are highly accessible still.
Up top, adidas extends the gray to the heel, laces, and surrounds, with a classic lacing system as well. Meanwhile, the unusual black rubber soles add a visual aesthetic and obviate any dirt that will come your way.
