SUPPORTING LEG (opp. working leg): the (standing) leg supporting your whole body while the other leg is free to do another step (e. g., if in retire w/ the RL during a pirouette, the supporting leg is the LL, left leg, or the one you’re “turning on”). A strong SL is Important for technical & esthetical reasons (e. g., it shouldn't bend if undesirable etc.).
SAUT DE BASQUE "basque jump" (int./adv.), a traveling jump: the dancer jumps & turns in the air with one leg placed in a retire position. A dancer first grande battements one leg (leaving it straight in the jump), as they push off the floor with the other leg and bring the foot near the knee of the other leg the battement leg.
SICKLING (a coomon mistake): a foot is incorrectly placed or pointed, causing it to look curved inwards from the front (considered unesthetical & makes the dancer more prone to injuries)
