Gordon Moody Take On The 3 Peaks Challenge.

Led by Dave Hollingsworth, Gordon Moody’s Beckenham treatment centre manager and Gordon Moody staff and former service users, as well as family and friends affected by gambling harm, will be taking on the 3 peaks challenge in April 2022.

Following on from the fantastic efforts of those who completed the 7 bridges challenge in June which raised £2,000 for Gordon Moody. Dave and his intrepid team will be attempting this challenge to continue to raise awareness of gambling harm as well as raising funds to support Gordon Moody in meeting the demand of those needing treatment for Gambling addiction.

We asked Dave what inspired him to take on the 3 peaks challenge.

“To help celebrate GM’s 50th birthday we are attempting the Three Peaks Challenge of climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales.

Whilst it can be done in 24 hours we are aiming to do it over two days, hence our 50 hours slogan. This should mean that anyone who wishes to take part can do so and we will all get up and down ok, assisted by experienced guides.

We have had lots of our staff team sign up to take part and plenty of our ex residents too. It is open to loved ones as well and many are taking the opportunity to bring someone along to share the experience and raise awareness (and funds) for Gordon Moody.

It is a huge logistical task but one that is well worth taking on for the individual and collective euphoria that will come as we descend Snowdon and say we took on the Three Peaks Challenge and we won”.

Gordon Moody provides unique treatment in a safe supported environment for those severely affected by gambling harm. All proceeds raised will go to Gordon Moody. To donate to the 50 hours for 50 years challenge you can visit our support us page.
