Hi!
I am Mael, and I started the auto-multiple-choice formula back when I was teaching at university in 2017. Although Macports was already providing auto-multiple-choice, I found the installation using Macports quite slow. In comparison, the Homebrew formula is between 10 and 15 times faster to install thanks to not having to re-download build-only artefacts as well as having "bottles" (prebuilt binaries) that speed up the install process even further.
I want auto-multiple-choice to continue working for people as a free alternative. Being sponsored for this work would help me stay motivated; sometimes I feel I don't know whether this Homebrew formula is being used by people, and sponsoring me is a way to let me know that you are!! ❤️
With a donation of $90 per month, I will be able to rent an M1 mac mini using Scaleway's M1-as-a-service offering. That will allow me to (finally) be able to maintain the formula for M1 users. The Scaleway M1-as-a-service offering looks like this:
1 sponsor has funded maelvls’s work.
Reaching this goal will allow me to maintain the Homebrew tap for auto-multiple-choice. auto-multiple-choice is a tool for creating and scanning multiple-choice questionnaires and is in use by school and university teachers. With the donations, I will be able to rent an M1 mac mini ($90/month rented off scaleway.com) so that I can fix auto-multiple-choice on M1 macs. When I will be done with the M1 mac support, I will keep renting the M1 mac mini so that I can keep maintaining the formula over time.
