When did this happen?

2024-09-27

What zones are affected?

GB

What is the problem?

Last updates for GB generation capacity is somewhat stale based on timestamps from https://github.com/electricitymaps/electricitymaps-contrib/blob/master/config/zones/GB.yaml, but also, importantly, Great Britain will no longer generate electricity using coal after September 30th, 2024.

Edit: Britain’s last coal-fired electricity plant closes, ending 142 years of coal power in the UK

For those reasons, please consider queueing a generation capacity update for this zone.

@VIKTORVAV99 Is this issue still relevant? Or should I close it as not planned (and another mechanism will resolve this capacity update)?
