Muhammara - Red Pepper Spread

Originating in Syria, muhammara is the perfect addition to the more popular hummos and baba ghanoush. A popular puree made from fresh roasted red peppers, toasted walnuts, and sauteed cumin seeds. It may be garnished with mint leaves, walnuts and olive oil and eaten as a dip with bread or spread on pita bread and toasted with cheese. It can also be enjoyed as a spicy sauce for kebabs, grilled meats and fish. Sweet Pillar uses an authentic family Syrian recipe.
