Hi, my name is Alfred Basha - lover of bright contrasts where no-one stoke is similar to the previous nor to the next. I mainly draw with black-inked pen and at night. Subjects of my illustrations are based on animal world and human being, poetically transformed into mutant creatures riding towards a surrealistic space.

The first time I tried to draw an elephant, my drawing looked like a big grey blob with ears. I was frustrated because I couldn't get the shape right or figure out how to draw the trunk. But I didn't give up. Instead, I looked for simpler ways to break down the drawing into more manageable parts. I learned to start with basic shapes and slowly add details, like the ears and trunk.
