The Curious Educator of Oz
Observational Drawing is an interesting opportunity to see what the child sees. Some notice the lesser noted details "it has yellow spots on the wing!", some notice the obvious (which is still something! Take it!) like "it's blue" and some children struggle to think of how to describe it and you get the "I don't know".....
This is a good example of parts and wholes with an informal learning experience. The teacher chose the activity, but does not have a specific object they were asked to build.
