Painted waterfall furniture

I've never been a huge fan of Waterfall Furniture. Growing up, I always thought the pieces my parents had picked up from yard sales and proudly displayed in their bedroom were... well... pretty ugly. Just how many horrendous waterfall desks are out there??? Apparently quite a few! I did one years ago, HERE, that actually amazed me! I can't believe how forgiving wood can be. And now, this one..
