M550i xDrive competition

While the previous M550i certainly was an AMG E53/CLS53 competitor (the E43 was more on par with M550d despite gas engine), and the M550i used to rival Audi S6/S7; the current version is a step up. It's only very slightly slower than an RS6/RS7. Mercedes doesn't have a direct competitor with the current M550i, as the E63S is an M5 competitor and they don't make standard E63 anymore (in fact not since the 2020 facelift).
