Justin Baldoni and his wife Emily have gotten something right; the couple are celebrating 12 years married and 14 years together in 2025.
The It Ends With Us star and his Swedish-born actress wife have an unwavering affection for one another and to this day are still as head over heels as they were those many moons ago.
Justin and Emily don't do things by haves; from an uber-lavish proposal to exchanging untraditional wedding vows that began 'with an apology', here's everything we know about their love story:
How they met
It's unclear how Justin and Emily first met, but the lovebirds had their first date on September 26, 2011 at the Blu Jam Café in LA.
In the past, the Jane the Virgin star has been vocal about having an instant gut feeling that Emily was 'the one', and his gut didn't let him down as over 14 years later the couple are still as loved-up as ever.
He previously told Makers: 'One of the things I learned from my mum was trusting my intuition, something I wish more men would tap into.
'I had made the same mistake so many times, searching for something in a package that I thought I would want. When I met Emily, it was unlike all my other experiences,' he continued, before gushing: 'She had, like, a depth and a grace and this quiet strength that I think I always dreamed of and I just knew.'
An unnecessarily extravagant proposal
Not even two years later, Justin plucked up the courage to propose in the most extravagant way possible, which was totally unnecessary as Emily said it was a 'stupid question' because the answer was obviously going to be yes.
On April 13, 2013, Justin got down on one knee in the restaurant where they had their first day, but first there was an elaborate plan put in motion.
Justin told his YouTube subscribers: 'I told her I was running late, had the restaurant opened just for her, and set up hidden cameras all around her.
'When she sat down at the table, there was a TV in front of her set to take her on a journey that would lead to the proposal of a lifetime.'
A clip played for Emily in which Justin lip-syncs to a number of songs with the help of his pals before they take part in a flash mob to Bruno Mars' Marry You. We'd be morto!
The mad 27-minute long proposal clip has amassed over 14 million viewers on YouTube.
Exchanging unorthodox wedding vows
Three months after getting engaged, Justin and Emily got hitched in Corona, California. The actor exchanged somewhat unorthodox vows with his wife as his began with an apology.
In their wedding video, Justin says: 'I want to start off my vows to you with an apology. I'm sorry for all my faults, my shortcomings, for my insecurities and my ego and for everything that I've ever done or said that's hurt you. And everything I've ever brought to this relationship that hasn't been pure.'
'But with that apology also comes a promise,' he said, adding: 'Emily, for the rest of my life, I will cherish you, I will appreciate you, I will listen to you, I will laugh with you, I will take care of you, I will honour you and I will respect you.'
Meanwhile Emily gushed that she loves Justin 'truly, madly, deeply'. She said: 'I will stand strong by your side. Grateful to have a man that will go above and beyond to comfort a friend or simply make someone feel loved.'
'I will stand firm by your side, deeply appreciative to have a man who inspires me and the people around him to live life more fully,' she continued.
Emily said she felt 'blessed' to have a man who speaks for others who don't have the strength to speak for themselves, explaining: 'And a man who will go without sleep to make sure somebody's story is shared with the world, because where there is love, nothing is too much trouble and there is always time.'
Their family
Justin and Emily are the proud parents of two children.
Their nine-year-old daughter Maiya Grace was born in June 2015. Two years later, they welcomed their son Maxwell to the world in October 2017.
Standing by his side through crisis
As the It Ends With Us drama continues and Justin's legal battle with Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds rages on, Emily has shown her unwavering support for her hubby.
On Justin's birthday, January 24, Emily shared a sweet snap of her and her husband sharing a kiss as they cuddle their kids on a pier.
She wrote: 'Happy birthday my love. Celebrating the man, husband, and father that you are. I’d choose you again and again.'
