Reborrowed from Persian تیز, ultimately from Proto-Turkic *teŕ-, doublet of Azerbaijani təzmək. Cognate with Crimean Tatar tez, Kazakh тез (tez), Tatar тиз (tiz), Uzbek tez, Chuvash тар (tar, to run away).
