- Genus Pseudohydnum The fruiting bodies of Pseudohydnum gelatinosum (jelly tooth) are unusual in that they appear to have features of two very different groups of fungi. The fruiting body itself is jellylike, but its lower surface is covered with short, toothlike white spines on which the hymenium is located.
