Reconstruction:Latin/frocum
Latin
editEtymology
editNoun
edit*frocum m (Proto-Gallo-Romance)
Reconstruction notes
editThat this was a relatively early borrowing, in spite of the limited distribution of its reflexes, is suggested by the fact that it developed parallel to focum (“fire”). That is, *frocum > *frueu > *frieu > friu~freu~fru.[1]
