- 7th century CE, Kaʿb ibn Zuhayr, أَعلَمُ أَنّي مَتى ما يَأتِني قَدَري [My Fate]:
- أَعْلَمُ أَنِّي مَتَى مَا يَأْتِنِي قَدَرِي * فَلَيْسَ يَحْبِسُهُ شُحٌّ وَلَا شَفَقُ
