The N and W articles feature images of both R68 and R68A because they are both technically assigned to those services. The R68A, despite running on the Q, is technically not assigned to the Q, only the R68 is, so only an R68 image is needed. However, as there are no good R68 images, this R68A image is being used as placeholder. |

The predecessor to the subway service known as the Q today was the Brooklyn, Flatbush and Coney Island Railway. On July 2, 1878, this [[steam railroad]] began operations on what would become the [[BMT Brighton Line]], from [[Prospect Park (BMT Brighton Line)|Prospect Park]] to the Brighton Beach Hotel in [[Brighton Beach]], which opened at the same time. The Brighton Beach Hotel was located on [[Coney Island]] by the [[Atlantic Ocean]] at the foot of modern-day Coney Island Avenue.
