The National Geographical Society of India (NGSI) is India's one of the oldest and leading learned[[Nonprofit organization|non-profit]] [[Learned society|scientific and educational society]] and professional body for [[geography]]. It was founded in 1946 by Professor Harbans Lal Chhibbar, a noted [[geologist]] and [[geographer]] who founded the Department of Geography at [[Banaras Hindu University]].
