Initiation (chemistry)

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Bringback2ndpersonverbs (talk | contribs) at 23:54, 14 April 2018. The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Chain Initiation: A free radical reaction mechanism step that has no radical reactant (s) and give radical product (s). In chemistry, initiation is a chemical reaction that triggers one or more secondary reactions. Often the initiation reaction generates a reactive intermediate from a stable molecule which is then involved in secondary reactions. In polymerisation, initiation is followed by a chain reaction and termination.[1]
