Sentence removed
[edit]”The incident was initially described by Rev. Tyerman as a mostly a problem of cultural differences, but in later years the story became a perilous cannibal adventure that defined the Māori (to European readers) as barbarian savages.”
That is a problematic sentence, and I have removed it. The incident involved the visit of the Endeavour to Whangaroa. Who is Rev Tyerman? Where is a reference for the claim he initially described the incident? The incident became a perilous cannibal adventure. How? No-one was killed, or eaten. Where’s a cite for the claim the incident defined the Māori (to European readers) as barbarian savages? This happened 14 years after the Boyd! Moriori (talk) 19:44, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
