Lives of Girls and Women reads like a collection of short stories but it's published as a novel, says "A Novel" on the cover and everything. It doesn't seem correct to say that none of it was included because the stories revolve around a single character, because the stories in The Beggar Maid/Who Do You Think You Are? also revolve all around a single character, and some of those are included.
