Updating

[edit]

This article needs some updating from 1911. Also, the Culdees have been made the object of various grandiose pseudo-historical theories; not sure how much of that we'd want to include here... AnonMoos (talk) 22:14, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Also contains what constitutes as weasle words, for example, "It was long fondly imagined by Protestant and especially by Presbyterian writers..." Needs accurate sources. Kristamaranatha (talk) 04:13, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also agreed. It looks like almost all of the sources here are over 100 years old (the 1911 Britannica is wide-ranging but not entirely reliable, and the Schaff cited here is also...oh, look, a 19th century Protestant historian: Philip Schaff. I am not a Catholic but the anti-Catholic bias in the sources chosen here shows through pretty clearly. Carhutt (talk) 14:02, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Culdee (Céile Dé) movement

[edit]

There is quite a lot of material on the Brehon Law page that has to do with the Culdee movement and near zero to do with the Brehons. Is this material worthy of inclusion here? I've never edited anything on wikipedia, and am hoping wiser (and more experienced) editors might be better to do such radical surgery. RAHampton (talk) 12:05, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
