hello! new to this website feel free to drop me a line.

Thank you for making some edits to the article on Bogotá. I fixed the language on the airport, and have a question: Is El Dorado International one of the more exPensive, or exTensive, airports in South America? I don't know anything about the economics of airports, so I don't want to fix that, in case it's not an error? Argyriou 23:34, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Airports

[edit]

I wan't sure why you removed the info from the box at Palo Negro Airport. I used the only reference that is there to put in the information (World Aero Database) and it state the airport is 3,897 feet or 1,188 meters. Also the coordinates worked as I checked them out. Also if you look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Airports/infobox it says to use "One of "public", "private" or "military". Not "commercial", "general" or "civil"!". I like the idea of having the runway section centered as it looks tidier. I will bring this up at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Airports/infobox Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aviation/Infobox Airport so the template can be amended and all the boxes will change. Cheers. No problem. I didn't think about the centered bit the first time but after I looked again I thought it looked better. Cheers CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 22:39, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Aragonair.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Unspecified source for Image:Logo Bavaria.gif

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo Bavaria.gif. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Note that any unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Fibonacci 21:33, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Might I ask why did you tag the Bavaria logo as GFDL? I presume you don't own the copyright to the logo. --Fibonacci 07:15, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I dont own the copyright, but I could not find the logo anywere, so i created a replica,
Still, the logo is trademarked, even if it's a version you made. See Wikipedia:Logos. --Fibonacci 18:54, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
and if you think i am making a mistake, deleate the stupid logo and forget about it...
Please stay cool. --Fibonacci 18:54, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
and this logo is a replica created by me dude. ColBog
Worse yet, that could be considered an infringement of copyright. --Fibonacci 18:54, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And you really should follow the rules to man.
So should you. --Fibonacci 18:54, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You sound like you have experience on this website, so I am going to ask you polite. WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER FOR THE LOGO? DELEATED,OR IS THERE ANY LICENCE THAT FALLS IN THAT CATEGORY? User:ColBog
You could try citing whatever you based your image on as a source. --Fibonacci 23:25, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey there again, I added a source to the image, which is both good and reliable. I hope this will HELP? User:ColBog
It's fine now, thank you. --Fibonacci 00:00, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Logo Bavaria.gif)

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo Bavaria.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 15:31, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use problem with Image:Palonegro.jpg

[edit]

I notice you uploaded the image Image:Palonegro.jpg with the {{web-software-screenshot}} fair use image tag. However, it appears that this tag is totally unrelated to the content of the image, and as a result it may qualify for speedy deletion. Image:Palonegro.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why Image:Palonegro.jpg can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the {{web-software-screenshot}} tag that you have placed on it with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can reupload it but please ensure you place the correct tag on it. However, you must not remove the speedy deletion notice. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. --Kaustuv Chaudhuri 12:37, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In addition to the incorrect fair use tag, full size images from Google Earth are not appropriate for Wikipedia because these images are copyrighted. Kaustuv Chaudhuri 12:53, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:SKBOGELDORADO.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:SKBOGELDORADO.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 14:50, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:EDEN.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:EDEN.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:05, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
