DYK for San Antonio–Austin metroplex

[edit]

On 28 January 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article San Antonio–Austin metroplex, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that despite being 80 miles (130 km) apart, Austin and San Antonio are merging into one metropolis? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/San Antonio–Austin metroplex. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, San Antonio–Austin metroplex), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

GA: Giosue Gallucci, again ...

[edit]

Hi, I have nominated Giosue Gallucci for GA again. Since you did a great job reviewing it the last time, maybe you would be interested to look at it again, if you have the time. As you might remember, the main and only reason that it had not been promoted to GA at the second attempt was that one of the sources, Gangrule, was not considered a reliable source. Since then more reliable sources have been added, but more importantly Gangrule itself has been updated and reliable sources have been added to that site. Which makes me believe that after two extensive reviews, this time the review will take little time and that it might succeed. I have also notified Libertybison. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Society for Crypto-Judaic Studies, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Gazette. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Re: Dead URLs

[edit]

Hello. Have you been successful at opening retrieving or seeing the pertinent dead URLs through Archive.org's website? [Matamoros, Tamaulipas.] I think some Mexican government authorities have moved some info to "new" websites I have written (or overwritten), and maybe they have deleted the old websites or transferred some information stored in the old websites (I think non-extant websites, by now.) I have clicked on/at the "archived" link and also on/at the "original" website and the System send a notice or warning "This website cannot be accessed" in both cases. Sorry for my English. Spanish is my mother tongue. Heterotrofo (talk) 18:36, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Heterotrofo: - Thank you. This is the archived version of the link. Let me know if you can see it. For future reference, if you find a dead URL, go to archive.org and then search it in their database. Click "Wayback Machine (provisional, read-only) service" (for now, this will change once the website is fixed) and then search it in their search bar. You may also click "Save Now" (currently unavailabe) if you want to save a link forever. Archive.is is also good but not as popular. Let me know if you have any questions or want me to check other sources for you. Morogris () 19:21, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi

No, I cannot see it.
The message reads as follows: "This website cannot be accessed."

Heterotrofo (talk) 19:27, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot.
I will not continue deleting that kind of references or data.

Heterotrofo (talk) 19:29, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • That's odd. I can open it on mine. Try clearing your cache on Google Chrome and maybe try another browser or updating your laptop/computer. The link works on my end. If you need help archiving in the future let me know. Morogris () 21:11, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

[edit]

Greetings friend, Just wanted to let you know, I saw your recent edits on the Texas Chain Saw Massacre and it looks pretty nice. I have been working on expanding the article in a separate userspace so I can work uninterrupted. So far it has been going well though I have slowed down a little. Eventually I will get around to completing it and transferring it into the userspace but it will be a good long while until that happens. If you are interested in helping or anything feel free to reach out I have already notified some of the recent major editors of the page to see what they think. Happy editing. Paleface Jack (talk) 02:54, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Paleface Jack: Thanks for reaching out. I'm happy to help you gather sources as you work to improve that article and others in the franchise. I am a very new fan of the 1974 movie since I just watched it for the first time this year. I added a few new sources to the article, one which I thought was quite comprehensive, but I also have a full PDF version of Joseph Lanza's book. Morogris () 19:05, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Morogris: That is good. I have several books on the subject, including that. I have everything in this separate edit space in sfn format to reduce messy source code, and have split things into separate article drafts (Special effects, Themes and analysis, and Cultural impact) to reduce article size. So far, I am at 329 citations though that will change in edits and copy edits. If you are gonna edit things there, please notify me and also tell me what you shall be editing so not to have conflicting edits.Paleface Jack (talk) 20:01, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Paleface Jack: Sounds great. As you may have noticed I added another source to the franchise article and one if your draft for the different titles. I don't plan to do any major updates at this time, but I'm happy to review it in parts if you'd like. I've done a few GA reviews myself and can check some aspects of it in prep for GA/FA if you decide to take it there. Morogris () 16:12, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Morogris: I do have a separate article for the Franchise itself if you feel the main article needs a complete rewrite. As for the first film, what aspect interests you the most? Paleface Jack (talk) 17:21, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Important: Please update user script installation

[edit]

Hi there, you currently have a user script installed from Anne drew Andrew and Drew. Several weeks ago, I changed my username to Anne drew, and unfortunately, due to an issue with script redirects, the scripts you have installed under my old username no longer function.

To fix this, please update your JavaScript pages (Special:MyPage/common.js or Special:MyPage/skin.js) by replacing all instances of Anne drew Andrew and Drew with Anne drew.

If any of this is unclear, please ping Anne drew for help. I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding!

Thanks – Anne drew
