Adamantium

[edit]

Why is there an Adamantium section in this article? Most of what is in this article is already discussed on Adamantium's article, and most of it has little to do with Ultimate Wolverine. There is also no "Powers and abilities" section, which, while it's not absolutely necessary, is part of the template provided by Wikiproject Comics. --Newt ΨΦ 15:13, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose the section was added due to the events that happened in Ultimate Wolverine Vs. Hulk # 1. Considering the controvery that's been generated by what happened, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be included since the incident has recieved VAST amounts of attention. Agreed, but you should have seen it before I trimmed it. Here, I'll show you:
Of note in the Ultimate Universe is the status of Adamantium. Adamantium is an alloy that is extremely rare and difficult to produce. As such, it fetches a far greater price than gold on the black market, and Wolverine's skeleton would be the ultimate bargaining chip. Therefore, many stories feature several criminals attempting to kill Wolverine and claim his skeleton for their own use.
It must also be noted that the durability of Adamantium, within the Ultimate Marvel Universe, has become the subject of controversy. In the Earth-616 continuity, which is the mainstream Marvel Universe, Adamantium is practically indestructible to all forms of damage. A sufficient amount is capable of withstanding nuclear strikes without sustaining damage. Certain events have occurred within the Ultimate Marvel Universe that question that status of Adamantium as "unbreakable," at least within that particular reality. During the initial appearance of the Ultimate Marvel Universe's version of Sabretooth, it was revealed that the Weapon X Program implanted four retractable Adamantium claws within each of his forearms, whereas Wolverine has three. However, through circumstances that remain unexplained, one of the claws implanted within Sabretooth's left forearm is broken. The Ultimate Marvel Universe's incarnation of the Incredible Hulk has broken an Adamantium needle. One recent occurence that questions Adamantium's durability also involves the Ultimate Hulk as well as Ultimate Wolverine. During a battle between the two, the Hulk ripped Wolverine's body in half despite Wolverine's bones being infused with Adamantium. Whether the Hulk actually broke the bone or merely seperated the vertebrae from each other has not been made clear. Marvel Comics has not provided any canonical explanation for the incident involving the Adamantium needle, or Sabretooth's broken claw. However, in the Ultimate X-Men story arc The Tomorrow People, Colonel Wraith refers to Adamantium as being "semi-indestructible".
So much of that information had nothing to do with the article as a whole. --Newt ΨΦ 00:59, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Team-Up?

[edit]

Wouldn't Wolverine's first appearance be in Ultimate Marvel Team-Up #1? In it, Logan is on the run from Weapon X and has not yet joined Magneto. It seems to be in the same continuity.

ultimate team-up #1 came out in april '01, I can't remeber what month ultimate x-men#1 came out. And yes it is in the same
