Safest body of water?

[edit]

I seriously doubt that unless someone can cite it. I've personally been caught in 2m swell whilst kayaking there and given the number of possums in the surrounding forrest, there's probably a good chance of catching giardia if you swallow any of the water. -- 02:42, 6 December 2006 User:Malathos

I agree - I've removed the section - it was patent nonsense --Ozhiker 10:42, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sealing the dam

[edit]

The article makes no mention of the fact that the sealing of the dam against leaks involved drilling holes 80 feet deep into the dam, and pumping concrete through the drilled holes to fill interstices in the wall. My uncle, Fred J. Dobson had the contract to drill the holes, and my father John Richardson (Fred's brother-in-law), worked on it with him. This was in 1945. I have photos taken by my father of various stages of the work, including the tunnels and siphoning mechanisms referred to in the article. I can supply digital copies on request.
