If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
[edit]Uncontroversial technical requests
[edit]- Bad Dreams (Winnick comics) → Bad Dreams (comics) (currently a redirect instead to Bad Dream) (move · discuss) – other article (Bad Dreams (Christin and Mézières comics)) deleted; not ambiguous 162 etc. (talk) 03:48, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- 5-MeO-aMT → 5-MeO-AMT (currently a redirect back to 5-MeO-aMT) (move · discuss) – Proper formatting. "AMT" (all caps) is widely used as acronym for "alpha-methyltryptamine" and a lowercase 'a' is rarely if ever used. "αMT" is also used sometimes (i.e., greek 'α' (alpha) symbol) but less commonly. 76.174.0.57 (talk) 02:40, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- Rolando Luiz Alvares da Cruz → Rolando da Cruz (move · discuss) – COMMONNAME omits maternal surname per refs Ortizesp (talk) 05:28, 29 November 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Contested technical requests
[edit]- Tulu Nadu → Tulunad (currently a redirect back to Tulu Nadu) (move · discuss) – correct name and most commonly used name മംഗലാപുരം (talk) 18:44, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- Likely not uncontroversial. Please cite sources. 162 etc. (talk) 04:32, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Kolej DPAH Abdillah → Kolej Abdillah (currently a redirect back to Kolej DPAH Abdillah) (move · discuss) – per WP:COMMONNAME, an article title is a natural-language word or expression, with that being said, it's correct to move the article to Kolej Abdillah, as no one is calling the subject name with the acronym (DPAH), it is commonly referred to as Kolej Abdillah by the locals here, See 36.85.110.227 (talk) 14:07, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
- The present title was chosen in an RM just a few weeks ago, so not uncontroversial. — Amakuru (talk) 19:26, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
- Mesa Grande → Sce:dagĭ Mu:val Va’aki (restricted by the titleblacklist, which page movers can override) (move · discuss) – the name of this site was officially changed in November 2024. See their website: https://www.arizonamuseumofnaturalhistory.org/plan-a-visit/sce-dagi-mu-val-va-aki and this article: https://www.mesanow.org/news/public/article/3408 199.101.34.66 (talk) 17:16, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- The article appears to be about the name change, with regard to WP:NAMECHANGE, we look for coverage about the organisation that uses the new name. Bobby Cohn (talk) 19:42, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- Priyanka Gandhi → Priyanka Gandhi Vadra (currently a redirect back to Priyanka Gandhi) (move · discuss) – Almost all reliable news sources in India and abroad - and her own social media profiles use the name Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. She also uses it in her campaign material. Using her maiden name does not make sense for consistency in the article aswell. Rushtheeditor (talk) 23:56, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
- There was a move discussion concerning the titles five years ago, in addition, there are some sources which refer to the former title and other to the latter title, so the common name is disputed. ToadetteEdit (talk) 06:18, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- But the source herself prefers to be called Gandhi Vadra. This is evident in all of her campaign materials. Her name discussion years ago is void as she wasn't in active politics then - and now will be a much more prominent figure as an MP. Her common name according to herself should be used to respect her decision. Rushtheeditor (talk) 23:22, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Rushtheeditor: That's the sort of argument that should be made in a full requested-move discussion, not a technical request. jlwoodwa (talk) 05:28, 29 November 2024 (UTC)

- Snooze (SZA song) → Snooze (song) (currently a redirect instead to Snooze) (move · discuss) – Snooze (Agust D song) is non-notable. The disambiguation is unnecessary where a hatnote will suffice. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 23:22, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
- If the song is non-notable like you claim, then nominate it for deletion (though the song likely meets the notability guidelines for WP:NSONG). Otherwise there's really no reason to only partially disambiguate two "Snooze" songs; if we need to disambiguate then we might as well go the whole way. RachelTensions (talk) 01:59, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Neonoen → NeonoeN (currently a redirect back to Neonoen) (move · discuss) – The band stylize their name in this way Sekundenlang (talk) 15:58, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Stylizations are generally not used on Wikipedia. MOS:TMRULES I'd suggesting editing the lead sentence to indicate "(stylized as NeonoeN)" as a suitable alternative (MOS:TMSTYLE) RachelTensions (talk) 18:24, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- List of attacks on the United States → Attacks on the United States (currently a redirect back to List of attacks on the United States) (move · discuss) – Requested name has only ever been a redirect and this was moved from draftspace minutes ago to the current name only because "Attacks on the United States" was a mainspace redirect already. The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 15:29, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- What's not mentioned in this summary is the WP:BLAR of List of foreign military attacks on United States territory that has caused the redirect was recently done by yourself. Not that this is preclusory or that I'm necessarily contesting at this time, I'm just trying to untangle the threads here. Bobby Cohn (talk) 21:05, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, I've undone your BLAR on that page as well as the same on Attacks on U.S. diplomatic facilities. You've cited TNT and that's going to make this controversial. Either take the two former to AfD or propose a merge, but RMTR is not the backdoor to those two. Bobby Cohn (talk) 21:21, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
