Rockwall Independent School District is a public school district established in 1841 in Rockwall, Texas.

In addition to Rockwall, the district serves the cities of Heath, McLendon-Chisholm, Mobile City, most of Fate, and small portions of Rowlett, Wylie, Garland, and Dallas in Rockwall County.[7] The district also extends into a very small portion of northern Kaufman County, including sections of Heath and Travis Ranch.[8] A very small section extends to Collin County.[9]

In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[10]
