Justine Henin-Hardenne defeated Elena Dementieva in the final, 7–5, 6–4 to win the singles tennis title at the 2005 Family Circle Cup.[1]

Venus Williams was the defending champion,[2] but lost in the third round to Tatiana Golovin.
