In recent times, I've been forced to endure harassment and outrageous 'conspiracy theory'-type slurs upon my character and needless needling and stalking and lynch mobs and veiled insults and vindictive behaviour and personal attacks and being compared to Richard Nixon and baying for blood and self-interested administrative actions and other miscellaneous stupidity – and for what? I don't know why such a large number of people feel unable to participate here without trying to flex their muscles and impugn others' dignity where there are really no grounds to do so. People may think I'm rude, abrasive, whatever: but I have never intentionally set out to piss others off. I have never chosen one person and decided to make their editing experience a misery for no reason other than my own personal gratification. And I have never taken a single action on Wikipedia that didn't have the integrity of the project at heart. And, I genuinely believe that not one of these statements can apply to any of the people responsible for the exhibits I listed above. Userpage
In leaving this note, I'm confronted by a large orange message that requires editors to the "polite, positive and constructive." Since we obviously agree on the proper role of a userpage, I'm sure you'll have no problem taking down your complaint after you've had time to reflect. - I will not be removing an accurate description of my on-wiki experience (eg. describing this as "baying for blood") from my userspace. If you wish to nominate it for MfD, feel free to go ahead at any point; I note a number of editors at ANI who have opined that it does not violate WP:NPA and this makes me moderately more confident in the collective common-sense of some Wikipedians than I was previously. ╟─TreasuryTag►Osbert─╢ 14:13, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
