The Thirteenth Crusade was a Crusade launched by Byzantine emperor Manuel III in 1384 against the enlarging Timurid Empire. Though the Christians, led by the Byzantines, French, and English were initially successful in their efforts to subjugate the forces of Timur, the Timurids launched a massive offensive that penetrated deep into Byzantine territory in 1389. The war ultimately led to the defeat of the forces of the Christian Army and caused the loss of much of Byzantine Anatolia. Though defeated, the Christians would ultimately seek out their revenge in the Fourteenth Crusade just nine years following the conclusion of the thirteenth crusade in 1392.

On January 23, 2025, various left-wing militias instigated a major revolt against the new president Ron DeSantis in a major escalation in America's era of mass political polarization. Launched in response to a prior political crisis stemming from a failed coup d'etat by former President Joe Biden, the revolt caused severe financial, supply chain, and political disruption within the United States. In response, right-wing militias and large parts of the U.S military rose up in opposition to the rebels. The revolt is the largest rebellion in U.S History since the Civil War, causing a major political crisis within the U.S governmental, military, and social institutions.

Following the 2020 Presidential Election and the 2021 Capitol Riot, former President Donald Trump was investigated, charged, and arrested for various charges relating to his role in the Capitol Riot and his alleged mishandling of confidential federal documents in the aftermath of his presidency, controversially ending his bid for re-election in the 2024 Presidential Election. Following Trump's arrest and the 2022 Midterm Elections, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis filled in the vacant spot of Republican Presidential nominee in the 2024 United States Republican Primaries, running in opposition to the 46th president and Donald Trump's former electoral opponent Joe Biden. After what observers described as the most controversial election since the 1860 election, DeSantis was narrowly declared the winner with a 278 - 260 electoral college triumph over Biden. The news triggered mass protests and riots amongst Democrats, which were often marked by commonly violent clashes with Republicans. Several of these demonstrations escalated into various insurrections, terrorist attacks, massacres, and even an attempted coup against the Wisconsin and California Governments. Thousands died and tens of thousands were injured in the brutal aftermath of the election. The riots reached a critical point on January 6, 2025: the four year anniversary of the Capitol Attack in which initially peaceful demonstrations by left and right-wing groups ended in a massacre of close to 800 people following confrontations between the two groups.

Joe Biden initially conceded defeat to DeSantis, however, on January 3, he retracted it and questioned the results of the election. Following the January 6 massacre, Biden and members of the cabinet and loyal high-ranking military officials plotted a coup. On January 18, while en route to Orlando, Florida, DeSantis' limousine was fired upon by several Humvees on I-4. DeSantis survived, but was in critical condition. The Biden administration initially denied involvement, however, conservatives believed it to be an attempted coup and protested, with these demonstrations again often turning violent due to confrontation with liberals and leftists. On January 19, thousands gathered in Washington D.C to protest DeSantis' attempted assignation, and in response, on the orders of the President, the National Guard fired upon them, killing thousands, before besieging and occupying the Capitol. With this, Biden seized greater power, suspending Congress and attempting to stack the Supreme Court with loyalists, however, many National Guardsmen resented the coup and turned against him, launching a counter-coup that installed DeSantis as President and reinstating Congress. Many on the left, fearing a Republican presidency more than a Democrat Autocracy, took to the streets, and after a deadly confrontation between protestors and police in Sacramento, many began to call for the taking up of arms. Starting on the 23rd, large groups of left-wing militias seized large parts of American cities with the ultimate aim of overthrowing the U.S Government.

The revolt has received widespread condemnation both domestically and internationally. Observers warn that this may be the start of a civil war within the United States.

Despite having a Missouri City address, the school is located in the Sienna CDP, which is currently not apart of Missouri City and is an unincorporated area.

The school is named after Billy Baines, who shortly after the 1959 formation of Fort Bend ISD, became principal of Arcola Elementary School. Baines was the first African American principal in Fort Bend ISD. He went on to serve in several leadership roles prior to retiring in 1990.

Demographically, the school's largest four groups are Asian Americans, White Americans, Hispanic Americans, and African Americans, who all compromise between 20-30% of the student population. 151 students (or 12.08% of the student body) are bilingual.

For the 2018-2019 school year, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) gave the school a B in its accountability ranking.

Incidents
In 2008, a teacher at the school resigned after being accused of engaging in a relationship with a 16-year-old student. The teacher was pulled over by police, who were told that the boy was her girlfriend

Dulles Middle School serves parts of First Colony, Sugar Creek, and large parts of Old Sugar Land. Dulles Elementary, which is adjacent to Dulles Middle School, and again like Dulles High School shares the same namesake, is a feeder school into Dulles Middle School. Lexington Creek and Highlands Elementary Schools also feed into Dulles in its entirety, while Barrington Place and Lakeview Elementaries partially feed into Dulles. Dulles feeds into Dulles High School in its entirety.

Although the school first opened in 1965, the school was closed in the 1975-1976 school year and was integrated into Dulles High School to alleviate overcrowding. In the wake of the opening of Fort Bend ISD's second school, Willowridge, in 1979, Dulles Middle School was reopened as a middle school in 1983. The school was opened as Dulles Junior High, but switched out the Junior High term for Middle School in 1989.

The school's largest ethnic demographic are Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders, who make up 28.4% of the student population. Asian Americans slightly exceed the second largest group, African Americans, by a single percentage point. Latinos consist of 23.1% of the student body while White people consists of just 15.9% of the middle school.

The school received a B from the TEA in the 2018-2019 school year.
