: I agree with (what I take to be) your criticism. This page is about the very specific Snow White character who appeared in the 1937 film, and has appeared in other media. e.g. When you see Snow White in Kingdom Hearts or in the Disneyland park, you say "Yes, that's the Snow White from the 1937 movie". Ditto when Snow White appears on Sofia the First. But the "Snow White" from Once Upon a Time is a completely different take on the classic fairy-tale heroine--different age, personality, history (and wardrobe and hairstyle...)--who just happens to also be owned by the same corporation. — Narsil (talk) 00:31, 21 January 2016 (UTC) |

Snow White as portrayed in Once Upon a Time is not a DIsney character, it is a creation of ABC Studios. Disney as a corporation owns subsidiary companies ABC Studios, that produces and American Broadcasting Company that broadcasts Once Upon a Time but that does not make the Snow White that is portrayed in that TV series a Disney character as portrayed in the Disney branded film and TV products and documented in this article. Info in the article does describe other uses of the character name. The infobox, lead and main focus of this article should stick strictly with the specific Disney character as indicated by the article title. One must wonder about the magic mirror, its power and its role. Where did Grimhilde get it from and if someone gave it to her: who - and with what intent? It has with reason been said that it just is not true that the sweet teen Snow white should be more fair than the queen. Also: can one at all talk of Anyone as Objectively the most fair of all? Does the mirror pusue some agenda of its own - or of someone else? Of greatest interest in this matter is that the queen seems to have all but abdicated her role as regent. Then who does rule the kingdom? <!-- Template:Unsigned IP --><small class="autosigned">— Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.198.216.242 (talk) 09:08, 25 June 2017 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot--> |

Mary Kay Bergman
[edit]Shouldn't it be mentioned that Mary Kay Bergman also did the voice of Snow White? -_- 207.157.89.19 (talk) 03:52, 28 April 2013 (UTC)
Voice
[edit]In the "Voice" section, apart from confusion as to whether the relevant name is Cazelotti or Caselotti, the first paragraph is very unclear (probably because the writer has a poor knowledge of English). Can anyone clarify it? - Mike Shepherd (talk) 19:31, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
Age

Marriage at 14?
[edit]"Unwilling to bury Snow White, because of her beauty, the dwarfs build a glass coffin in which to lay her to rest. She is left in the woods, where the prince from earlier finds her. He kisses her and she awakens. The two leave together to presumably be married."
It just said earlier in the section she was only 14. How is it presumed they were going to be married? 76.175.116.65 (talk) 02:26, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Centuries ago, 14 was certainly not uncommon as a marriageable age. Powers T 14:23, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
Incorrect Japanese on page
[edit]The Japanese provided for the Kingdom Hearts character is incorrect. Currently the character's name is written in the extant article as: スノー ム愛ト。This contains both an incorrect katakana character (ム) as well as a character (愛) that is not used in the normal writing of Snow White's name in Japanese.
There are two acceptable ways of writing Snow White's name in Japanese - using kanji characters (as the Walt Disney Company does on the Japanese releases of the film) or by writing in the Japanese script called katakana (used for foreign loanwords). Snow White's name in Kanji would be 白雪姫 (しらゆきひめ) and her name in katakana would be スノー ホワイト. Normally, the DIsney character's name is written using kanji, but it could also be written in katakana, though Disney does not do this themselves. At no time would it be written using the mix of kanji and katakana used in this article.
I would like to request an editor to make these changes, as I find I do not have permission to make the edit on this article. Corroboration for the correct writing of Snow White's name can be found on the Japanese Wikipedia for the Disney film (http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/白雪姫_(アニメ映画)) as well as on the Japanese Disney site for the character (http://www.disney.co.jp/character/snowwhite/index.html). The Kingdom Hearts character is the Disney version of the princess, so it is logical that her name would be written following Disney's standards.

Incorrect statement in 'Wardrobe' section
[edit]The page states that Snow White sings 'Some Day My Prince Will Come' whilst wearing a tattered gown at the beginning of the film. In fact, it is 'I'm Wishing' that she sings. 'Someday My Prince Will Come' occurs much later in the film. Trnewcomb (talk) 09:20, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
Merge to film
[edit]Based on the limited amount of new information this article presents over the film article (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937 film)), and this article is adding unnecessary non-free imagery over what is in the film article. Because of the degree of overlap, this article should be merged into the film article, possible leaving this as a redirect (since a possible search term). --MASEM (t) 21:44, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
I would say to see what is needs to establish this is about the character vs. what is only about the film. If there is enough than lets work on that. If not do what I did two years ago - redirect it back to the parent article on Snow White. But keep in mind at that time the entire article fit into the Film and television section, now that this article has been expanded to include the various uses of the Snow White character, each would each have to find a home under the Other versions section that best fit, if not already included there. Soundvisions1 (talk) 23:05, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- Upon more research we don't need this article at all. Most everything is already covered is more detail at the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937 film) article. There is Differences from fairy tale, an entire section on Production that includes discussions on Early ideas, Design and animation of human characters and Music. There is a section for Theatrical re-issues and home media releases and other Media, including Video games as well. Also some of these links appear in the main Snow White article under the Other versions section Soundvisions1 (talk) 15:52, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Given that the character trademark was granted on June 18th, this opens up a whole host of other issues that are separate from the film. The Disney princesses are symbols of the company apart from the movies, and a Snow White character appears in several other stories (most of which are hundreds of years old). If nothing else, keeping this page or changing the content to show the various ways in which the Snow White character has appeared (Snow White and Rose Red being a very different example, as well as the Snow White that appeared in Grimm's Fairy Tales) may clarify the issues for anyone searching for information about the history of the character.
