/* Death */ Added more detail to the circumstances of his crash (with reference)

I added more details to this section to establish that Mike Spence was the fastest of the drivers practicing for the Indianapolis 500 in 1968, and that his fatal crash occurred while he was test-driving another car (not his primary car). Gitanes26 (talk) 02:18, 8 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

1966 Parnell Lotus

The Reg Parnell Racing Lotus that Spence drove in 1966 was rebuilt from the wreck of chassis R4 and renumbered as R13. Supposedly the rebuild was based around a Type 33 monocoque (as believed by Lotus historian Doug Nye in http://www.motorsportmagazine.com/archive/article/august-2013/74/whole-bunch-trouble) and for this reason the car is often referred to as a "Lotus 33". I've changed this to show the car as a Lotus 25/33, which looks clumsy and I wonder if we shouldn't just call it a Lotus 25 and be done with it. Halmyre (talk) 23:02, 7 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
