Revision as of 04:29, 12 October 2007
This non-free media file should be replaced with a smaller version to comply with Wikipedia's non-free content policy and United States copyright law. According to Wikipedia's policy for non-free content, the amount of copyrighted work used under fair use should be as little as possible. In particular, non-free media on Wikipedia should not be usable as substitutes for the original work. A high-resolution non-free image is questionable fair use and may be deleted per Wikipedia's copyright policy.
In most cases, this reduction will occur automatically: simply wait a while and a bot will resize the image file according to the guideline at WP:IMAGERES. When an automatic reduction does not occur or a manual reduction is desired, the size of an image may be reduced in an image editing program or by saving and re-uploading a suitably sized thumbnail. Once a reduced version of this file has been uploaded: Please replace this template with {{subst:orphaned non-free revisions}} (through source edit) or {{orphaned non-free revisions|date=31 October 2024}} (through VisualEditor or Twinkle). |

Article | |
Portion used |
Single screenshot of complex and dynamic program |
Low resolution? |
No; the screenshot must be at full resolution for readability, but most of the screenshot is free-as-in-freedom Wikipedia content. |
Purpose of use |
To identify and illustrate Opera |
Replaceable? |
No; it is extremely unlikely that this image will be released under a free license. |
Other information |
A screenshot of Linux is used instead of a screenshot of Microsoft Windows because the window manager GNOME is free as in freedom, thus reducing the amount of non-free content present in this screenshot. |
