Sir Jinx

Sir Jinx, born Anthony Wheaton, is an American hip-hop record producer and rapper from South Central Los Angeles, California.

==Career== Sir Jinx started out with just a love for music. At the age of 6 would keep the music going when attending family events. Back when it was one turntable and a 8 track. Then a little fad came along called Hip Hop. Sir Jinx grew a little taller. Then begin break dancing, doing Graffiti (art), rapping doing talent show at a young age.

Beginnings

Sir Jinx was part of the group C.I.A. alongside Ice Cube and K-Dee (known then as Kid Disaster)[1] and appeared on their 1987 release, My Posse. Through his friendship with Jinx, Ice Cube came into contact with Dr. Dre and became a part of N.W.A. Sir Jinx has continued to be one of the most influential rap artists of the last quarter century. The longevity of and increase in his popularity is due in large part to the rare combination of gifts he possessed. He is a talented songwriter with the ability to write songs that provided, in a hip hop and R&B format, the depth of the most heartfelt music; and he is a remarkable song stylist who defined (or redefined) nearly every song he touched in his career When Cube left Ruthless Records over a financial dispute. Sir Jinx went with Cube, Producing & mixing on Cubes first album.

Success

Sir Jinx is a great talent who has yet to receive much deserved attention on this side of the west coast. Raised in California in a musical family, Sir Jinx was immersed in a sea of great artists. Sir Jinx may be a new name to you, but not to the music world. And now Sir Jinx is moving to the forefront with his own music on his debut CD. "CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW". This new album is sort of my introduction to the world. Sir Jinx's first major project came in 1990, when he produced alongside the Bomb Squad on Ice Cube's solo debut, AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, Produced "Once Upon A Time In The Projects" & contributing on all 16 tracks. Sir Jinx was instrumental in Cube's 1991 EP Kill at Will, Jackin For Beats composing, producing and remixing all the tracks.

Sir Jinx could be seen Co hosting on B.E.Ts Rap City: The Basement, MTV & Vh1 and many other hip hop video shows. He has also DJ'ed for various TV shows including The Jimmy Kimmel Show, The Orlando Jones show and other talk shows and radio events... Sir jinx played a part in John Singletons Poetic Justice in 1993. Starring Janet Jackson

In addition to his work Sir Jinx worked on WC and the Maad Circle alongside WC, Launching the career of Coolio Sir jinx is noted to be the first West Coast rap producer to produce a East Coast artist whole album. Kool G Rap Live And Let Die (1992), highly regarded and considered Hip-Hop classics.


Sir Jinx has also created remixes for Rap Rock outfits such as Rage Against the Machine; (Sir Jinx Mix)", "Guerrilla Radio (Sir Jinx Edit), "Bullet in the Head (Sir Jinx Remix)", and the unreleased "Bombtrack (Remix)". The latter two remixes were both completed by Sir Jinx in 1992.

After Ice Cube's 1993 album, Lethal Injection War & Peace Vol. 1 (The War Disc). This and a change in musical direction[2] caused Jinx to move on to producing for other more R&B-oriented acts, such as CeCe Peniston and Gerald Levert Isaac Hayes and Teena Marie Ricky Bell To name a few.

Sir Jinx returned to hip-hop production on Xzibit's 1998 album, 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz. He also helped produce Xzibit's next album, Restless, in 2000. Following some other minor production work on the 2003 soundtrack to comedian Eddie Griffin's film of the same name. Outside of some minor production on Kurupt's 2005 album, Against tha Grain, Sir Jinx was relatively low-key during this period. Creating a Dj style cd mix's (now called mix tapes) he mixed and hosted over 20 mixed cds sold world wide.

Return

Sir Jinx stated in an October 2010 interview[2] that he was going to help produce cousin Dr. Dre's long-awaited 2011 release, Detox. In spite of his relation to Dr. Dre, this is the first album the two have worked on together. 2010 also marked the first time Sir Jinx and Cube had worked together on any new material together in 17 years, with Jinx contributing on the track "Life in California" from Cube's I Am the West album that year.
