[edit]Perhaps from *peoples nice, meant to be 'nice people' but constructed following Spanish grammar (cf. personas agradables); or perhaps from *people is nice, similarly using Spanish grammar (cf. la gente es agradable). Conceivably influenced by pizpireto.
