MTV Asia Awards

MTV Asia Awards

The biannual MTV Asia Awards is the Asian equivalent of the Australian MTV Australia Awards. Established in 2002, the show gives recognition and awards to Asian and international icons in achievement, cinema, fashion, humanitarian, and music. The show was absent in 2007. It should be noted that it was in that year in fact that MTV Networks Asia decided to launch the very first Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards Asia which was held in mid 2007 across three countries. This leads to some viewers speculating that MTV Asia Awards now synchronizes with the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards Asia.
