*October 26, 1992: Wally Whitehurst, D. J. Dozier and a player to be named later were traded by the Mets to the San Diego Padres for Tony Fernández. Regular season

*While with the Mets, from May 6, by|1992 to July 24, by|1993, Anthony Young lost 27 consecutive games in which he had a decision. This losing streak is the longest in Major League Baseball history. The losing streak was snapped on July 28th against the expansion Florida Marlins. Young allowed an unearned run in the top of the ninth to give the Marlins a 4-3 lead.
