November 10 ,1943 inSheboygan, Wisconsin ), is a former professionalAmerican football wide receiver who played six seasons for theAmerican Football League 'sNew York Jets . He started for the Jets in the third AFL-NFL World Championship Game, helping defeat the NFL's heavily favored but over-rated Baltimore Colts, reputedly "the best team in the history of professional football". He later played for theNew York Stars of theWorld Football League . He also coached a minor league football team in the late 1970s. His fatherGeorge Sauer played for theGreen Bay Packers from 1935 through 1937. After retiring in 1971, George pursued writing, and has completed a novel.ee also
