Hachijō Subprefecture

Hachijō Subprefecture

. The organization belongs to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bureau Of General Affairs.

It includes the following towns and villages on the Izu Islands:

*Hachijō (town on Hachijōjima and Hachijōkojima)
*Aogashima (village on Aogashima)

Additionally, the subprefecture includes the following islands; These islands currently do not belong to any municipality, because both Hachijō and Aogashima claim administrative rights.

*Torishima
*Smith Island ("Sumisu-tō")
*Bayonaise Rocks ("Beyonēzu Retsugan")
*Lot's Wife ("Sōfu-iwa")

Among the islands of the subprefecture, only Hachijōjima and Aogashima are inhabited.
