- Thiago
The name Thiago derives from the
Latin Iacobus, which in turn is a latinization of the Hebrew name Ya'akov (יעקב) or Jacó. It means "held by the heel, protected, supplanted.".Thiago is a Brazilian corruption of the Portuguese name Tiago, which in turn is a corruption of the other Portuguese version of Ya'acov that is Iago. The name Tiago appeared from the combination of two elements Santo and Iago that produced Santiago.
Beyond Tiago, Jacó, and Iago, the name Thiago also has other versions as Diogo and Jaime.
